John,
Julie Jenkins Fancelli, heiress of the Publix supermarkets chain, was already known to have donated to two groups tied to the “Stop the Steal” rally that preceded the attack on the Capitol on January 6th.
But this week, CREW uncovered a third donation for $200,000 to the State Tea Party Express, another group apparently involved in the rally, bringing her donations to a total of $650,000 and making her one of the biggest known donors to the groups that planned the rally. Read our full investigation here.
Nearly a year after the insurrection, we’re still uncovering new information--whether it’s about people who funded the rally, law enforcement’s failure to take threats seriously, or new companies who have gone back on their promises not to make PAC donations to insurrectionist members of Congress. We’re not giving up the fight for answers and accountability—and we know you’re not either.
Take a few minutes to read our new investigation, and if you’re able, please consider making a donation to help us continue the fight for accountability.
Thank you,
The CREW Team
