Dear John,
As the pandemic moves more people into the disability community every day, there is an even greater need to bridge the gap between policy and the people impacted by it. That’s what we work to do — through accessible resources [[link removed]] so everyone can understand information about issues that affect their lives, and action alerts [[link removed]] that help our community engage in grassroots advocacy on critical issues, we strive to equip our community with the tools needed to realize the full potential of self-advocacy, our community, and our rights. [[link removed]] Can you join us by supporting our work [[link removed]] as the year draws to an end?
This year, we’ve been taking action together. We’ve been fighting for the inclusion of the largest federal investment in home- and community-based services [[link removed]] in the Build Back Better act, continuing to work to pass the Keeping All Students Safe Act (KASSA) [[link removed]] which would ban almost all kinds of restraint and all kinds of seclusion across all 50 states, and so much more [[link removed]]. And by calling and emailing legislators, getting involved in our proxy calling program [[link removed]], sharing our resources, and more, you’ve been with us through it all. We are proud to work together with our community to create the changes that people with disabilities urgently need.
Your support [[link removed]] lets us make sure everyone has the opportunity to get involved in issues that affect them. Here’s how you can help us keep that going:
- Donate to us directly here [[link removed]]
- Buy a copy of Loud Hands or another one of our books here [[link removed]]
- Get a shirt or other item from our Threadless shop [[link removed]]
- Set us as your Amazon Smile [[link removed]] charity
- Spread the word about us! You can tell your friends about us on social media, via email, or in person
- Share our policy toolkits [[link removed]]
We are only able to do this work thanks to your advocacy and support. Thank you for everything that you do.
Sincerely,
Zoe Gross
