Folks, it’s no overstatement to say that the future of American democracy may hinge on our ability to pass federal voting rights legislation. The Republican Party has already passed several anti-democratic voting laws in Georgia, Texas, and Florida and they want to allow state legislatures to dictate the winner of the Electoral College.

The House has passed its own legislation, but with a 50-50 split in the Senate, we need every Democrat on board. That’s why we’re asking you to sign our petition demanding that the Senate pass the Freedom to Vote Act.

This legislation was proposed by Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) and would directly take aim at the most nefarious Republican attempts to destabilize our democracy. Along with providing folks greater access to the ballot box, this bill would make it illegal to throw out free and fair Electoral College votes.
