John, this is urgent.
Paid leave is at risk in the Senate.
There’s a reason I negotiated for months to ensure that paid family and medical leave was included in the Build Back Better Act that passed the House. No person in this country should ever have to make a choice between keeping their job and taking care of themselves or a loved one. It was true before the pandemic and it’s true today, after nearly 800,000 people have died in America and many, many more have gotten sick from COVID.
Conservatives and corporate special interests are trying to remove paid family and medical leave from the Build Back Better Act in the Senate — so we need to fight back while we still can. Can you sign on to tell the Senate to protect paid leave in Build Back Better? Our country’s working people and families are relying on us.

The wealthiest Americans and big corporations must finally pay their fair share in taxes so we can invest in working families. That includes finally making paid family and medical leave a reality.
Right now, the United States is one of only six countries — and certainly the only wealthy country — in the whole world without any form of national paid leave. That’s not how it should be, John.
Paid family and medical leave policies are incredibly popular, and this is our chance to make them the law of the land. We must keep fighting for paid leave in the Senate, no matter the overwhelming corporate opposition.
Can you add your name to our fight to keep paid leave in the Build Back Better Act? By signing on, you’re telling the U.S. Senate that paid leave is a priority that must remain in the President’s signature piece of legislation.

I know it feels like this fight has gone on for far too long — we have corporate lobbyists and their unchecked influence over our political system to thank for that. But we can’t stop now.
In solidarity,
