Transparency and honesty are at the heart of this campaign -- unlike the Republican candidates running on Trump’s “Big Lie.”

The lies spewed by Trump and his loyalists have damaged the very fabric of our democracy -- and if we want to get back to any sort of normalcy, we need to bring honesty and integrity back to our politics.

That’s why I’m reaching out today -- I want to be transparent about my upcoming FEC fundraising deadline and make sure that we’re all on the same page. But first, would you consider chipping in a $25 donation? December is about halfway over, and it’s vital that I hit my mid-month fundraising goal if we want to meet our projections for the final FEC quarter of the year.

Whereas Republicans resort to scare tactics, bogus attack ads, and shady fundraising practices, I want you to know that at Team Casten, we’re always going to be honest with you. That’s why I want to explain a few things.

I know you’ve heard my team and I talk about “end-of-month” pushes and “end-of-quarter” goals, but I don’t think I’ve ever broken down what that really means.

It’s pretty simple: We set fundraising benchmarks for each quarter of the year based on how much we think the campaign is going to spend on things like voter outreach, digital and television ads, volunteer training, etc. Then, we break that down to see how much we’ll have to raise each month to reach that end-of-quarter goal.

The end of the FEC quarter also means that we have to publicly report our fundraising numbers -- and so will our opponents. It’s crucial that our numbers show we have a strong, loyal team with the resources to hold this seat, especially going into the midterm elections next year.

Basically, folks, we want to show Republicans that investing their time and money in this district would be futile.

And to do that, I need your help. Will you pitch in $25 or more today to help us reach our critical mid-month goal and show Republicans what you can do when you’re honest with your team instead of perpetuating lies about a stolen election? [
