This week we said goodbye to soldier, statesman, and American hero Bob Dole. I paid my respects to Senator Dole in the Capitol on Thursday, and at the National Cathedral on Friday. Our country owes a debt to the Greatest Generation that we can never repay.
This weekend, I look forward to getting home. I’ll be joining Maria Bartiromo on Fox News Channel live from Casper on Sunday morning. We’ll talk about President Biden’s policies, inflation, and the Democrats’ reckless tax and spend bill.
I am fighting back against the Democrats’ reckless tax and spend bill, and am prepared to stay in Washington through Christmas to do so.
This week I highlighted another major giveaway to Democrat donors in their bill. Its the state and local tax deduction – or SALT. Let me be clear, this was something that was not in the original bill, and Nancy Pelosi put this language in after Democrats lost elections in November.
You’re probably wondering who benefits from this SALT kickback? It benefits those with mansions and penthouses on the East and West coasts. Those who can throw major donor parties to benefit Democrats. And how much are they benefiting from this? My estimation, on average, is $15,000 per taxpayer.
They pay high taxes at the local level, and now they can write that off on their federal tax returns. These are mostly wealthy individuals who make over $500,000. Cash for them? Salt in the wound for everyone else.
The total cost will be 275 billion dollars over the span of 5 years. The Washington Post even pointed out this is the second-highest component in the Dems’ reckless tax and spending bill. This is just for the very rich.
This bill is a mockery of everything that Pelosi, Schumer, and Biden claim they are for. This is why Senate Republicans are doing everything they can to defeat this bill.
