I just got a briefing from our political team on what's coming in 2022, and I’m worried: We’re expecting an avalanche of gerrymandered districts and an attempt by anti-democratic forces to take over local election boards. 

We have a plan to fight back, but I’m going to be honest, John – our fundraising has only raised a fraction of what we need to meet the challenges of 2022. If we get back on track, I’m confident our movement can respond to these threats.

RepresentUs is ready to hit the ground running next year – building out a set of defenses from whatever our enemies throw at us. Your donation will determine how we can respond to threats: 

• Short-Term: RepresentUs is expecting lawsuits to challenge gerrymandered maps in the first two months of 2022. We’re hiring organizers and recruiting supporters in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and other targeted states to build grassroots power and win those cases. 

• Medium-Term: RepresentUs is working to pass state and local ballot measures in 2022 to fix our political system. The investments we make now will allow us to win pro-democracy initiatives like Ranked Choice Voting next November.

• Long-Term: RepresentUs is launching a program to ensure that election boards across America respect the results of free and fair elections. We’re setting up the organizing infrastructure to create mass mobilization actions at a moment’s notice and to protect nonpartisan election workers.

But if we don’t hit our year-end fundraising goal, our movement won’t have the resources to do everything we have planned.
