Dear John,

We’ve got some roarsome news… four weeks today, on Saturday 8th January, our very special Born Free Forever lions will take-up residence in London for three months!

As part of our Year of the Lion celebrations, marking the 100th birthday of our Co-Founder and star of the award winning film Born Free, Bill Travers MBE, we've joined forces with artists Gillie and Marc to create this landmark installation featuring beautiful bronze sculptures of lions with special significance to our charity.

Join us at Millennium Green (near Waterloo) for this family friendly, free, outdoor exhibition – don’t forget your camera, it’s not to be missed!

We’ll also be taking our pride on tour up and down the UK throughout 2022, so watch this space for further
dates and venues.

“Lions face many challenges, both in the wild and in captivity. We cannot stand by and watch the suffering endured by individual lions in dire captive conditions. Nor can we ignore the ongoing decline in so many wild populations for a moment longer. These breath-taking
life-size, bronze sculptures, featuring iconic lions that we know and cherish, including Cecil, Christian, King and, perhaps most famous of all, Elsa on top of a 4x4, tells their true-life stories and the suffering so many of them experience – suffering caused by humans.  Please visit Born Free Forever in London, marvel at the exhibition, learn more about these emblematic and majestic lions, and help us fundraise and campaign for a forever future for lions.”

Will Travers OBE, Co-Founder The Born Free Foundation
