Dear John,

I'm writing to extend an invitation to ARC's exclusive "Where We've Been and Where We're Headed: America's Justice Reform Policies" ([link removed]) virtual event on December 15 at 5pm PT.

This panel discussion will feature Alexander Chanock, Legislative Council at U.S. Congressman David Trone's Office; Marcy Mistrett, the Director of Youth Justice at The Sentencing Project; Melissa Goemann, Senior Policy Counsel at the National Juvenile Justice Network; Jerome Dixon, ARC Member and Project Manager for Raw Development Construction; and Michael Mendoza, ARC's Director of National Advocacy. Celina Chapin, ARC's Public Policy Associate will be moderating the panel.

As we look ahead to 2022 and the policies that will shape the justice reform landscape, we've been emboldened to assemble a panel discussion about policy trends on the national scale. This panel will discuss how national policies are shaping the moment we’re in, recent successes in justice reform legislation, and how we might work towards a complete overhaul of the Federal system.

ARC is a key player in shaping the justice reform policy landscape in California -- since 2013, we've passed 28 pieces of legislation to make our criminal legal system more equitable and humane. In 2021, we launched our national policy department and are primarily focusing on fighting for policies that ensure justice-involved youth are better protected at every touchpoint of the juvenile justice system. We're looking forward to discussing these salient issues with fellow experts in this space, and hope you'll be able to join us as we convene one last time before the new year.

If you are interested in attending, the Zoom link for this event can be found here: [link removed]. If you have any questions regarding this event, please reach out to Celine Nehme at [email protected]rg (mailto:[email protected]?subject=National%20Policy%20Panel) .
