It’s official. Election Day 2020 is exactly one year away.
History is in our hands over the next 12 months. President Trump is aiming to flip Minnesota red for the first time in 48 years, and if he succeeds, he’ll almost certainly be re-elected.
Here’s the reality: We’re not going to be able to match the Trump campaign dollar for dollar. And that’s OK because we have justice, truth, and people-power on our side. But we have to at least keep our budget on track to run our grassroots organizing program, and next year’s will be the biggest in our Party’s history.
We still need to raise roughly $1,700 by midnight to make sure we can hit the ground running in the one year stretch tomorrow. I’m counting on your support to make sure we can charge through the next 12 months. Please pitch in a quick $5 or more to help us close the gap.
We’re depending DFLers who will step up to take advantage of Minnesota’s Political Contribution Refund (PCR) as one of our most critical grassroots funding sources. The PCR program allows Minnesota residents to have up to $50 of one individual contribution per year refunded (or $100 for couples).
Here’s the bad news: According to a recent report released by the state, THE MINNESOTA GOP IS AHEAD OF US IN TOTAL PCR CONTRIBUTIONS. Grassroots funding is our competitive edge against the right-wing super PAC money set to flow into our state -- we can’t afford to lose it.
