Last week, the Supreme Court entertained the most dangerous challenge to reproductive choice since Roe v. Wade made abortion a constitutional right five decades ago.

The Mississippi law at the center of this case criminalizes abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy. If it’s allowed to proceed, 26 states could implement a complete ban on abortion — despite the fact that an overwhelming amount of Americans support the right to choose.

The news is already reporting that the conservative supermajority of justices on the court are leaning towards upholding Mississippi’s anti-choice law, which is why I’m reaching out today to ask you to sign on and affirm that every American should have the right to make decisions about their own healthcare.

I strongly urge the Supreme Court to rule in favor of bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom, but if they don’t, Congress must act quickly to protect a person’s right to choose.

That’s why the House already passed the Women’s Health Protection Act. Should the Supreme Court fail to uphold Roe v. Wade, I will work hard every day to see that this critical legislation is passed in the Senate and sent to President Biden to be signed into law.
