Friend,

Today, I'm proud to share with you the latest recommendations coming out of the Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress (also known as the "Fix Congress" Committee). The work of this committee is one of my top priorities because I believe Congress could get a lot more done for the people if it did things differently. As Chair, it's my goal to have our committee take steps to help us make Congress work better for the American people.

Our bipartisan committee voted in favor of 25 new recommendations aimed at increasing civility, strengthening congressional support agencies, and furthering evidence-based policymaking. You can read about our committee's efforts here.

Specifically, we are recommending that Congress:

• Create more bipartisan workspaces where members and staff can collaborate;
• Urge committees to make bipartisan web pages;
• Give members more opportunities to deliver feedback on how committees can work better;
• Improve professional development opportunities for members to address topics like conflict resolution and building collaborative committees;
• Develop a Task Force on Evidence-Based Policymaking to ensure that policies are developed based on science and fact;
• And much more.
