The Supreme Court just allowed Texas’ cruel abortion law to remain in effect. This is deeply serious: abortion is nearly illegal in Texas, and this dangerous precedent threatens reproductive freedom in every state across the country.
I will not stop fighting for immediate action to protect Roe v. Wade and abortion rights in America. This is personal to me — earlier in my life, I made the difficult choice to have an abortion. And I carry the message from Seattle to the Pro-Choice Caucus in Congress to rallies outside the Capitol — terminating my pregnancy was not an easy choice, but it was MY choice. Because of this restrictive abortion law and the other abortion bans currently being passed in other states, many people may not have the same choice as I did.
Senate Democrats can act right now by ending the filibuster and passing the Women’s Health Protection Act — so we can codify Roe v. Wade into law once and for all. Can you chip in $3 to fuel my fight to end the filibuster and protect reproductive freedom nationwide? After this dangerous Supreme Court decision, growing our fight right now is critical.
The decision to have an abortion is an intensely personal choice about control of our own bodies. And the consequences of that choice are ones that only WE will have to live with — federal judges and Republican state legislatures have no business restricting our choices about our bodies.
The Senate can protect abortion rights right now, but only if it ends the filibuster and passes the Women’s Health Protection Act. We can’t wait any longer.
