Dear John
There are still 3 weeks left for you to submit your ideas for participatory budgeting projects that could benefit our parks, schools, streets and communities. PB is a process that allows you the chance to have your voice heard on how public money should be spent in District 39. Last week our PB volunteers held an amazing pop-up event at Washington Park in Park Slope where we received dozens of suggestions from neighbors for local improvements.

Now we are highlighting two more opportunities to share your ideas:
-
Please check out our new PB digital platform. You can access the D39 idea submission portal to send us your proposals and comment on others. Click here for a guided tour of how to use the site.
-
Join our District Committee and PB volunteers for a Zoom Neighborhood Participatory Budgeting Assembly, Thursday December 16 at 7 PM. We will discuss the participatory budgeting process and the new PB platform, learn about volunteer opportunities, and move into breakout rooms for some intensive idea brainstorming.

As you walk through your neighborhood this weekend, think about what improvements would make it even better and let us know. Our volunteers are ready to get to work researching your ideas and putting together a ballot for you to vote on in spring. I won’t be your council member at that point, but participatory budgeting will be in terrific hands when Council Member-elect Shahana Hanif takes office next month.
Please remember to mask up, get tested and get your booster today to help NYC stay healthy as winter and holiday gatherings approach. Today the Governor announced a statewide mask mandate indoors in places where vaccination is not required.
Take care,
Brad
