ggwash.org [ggwash.org] [link removed] [[link removed]]Dear Friend,
As the end of 2021 fast approaches, I wanted to share some highlights from our housing advocacy and ask you to join our year end campaign [[link removed]] to raise $25,000, because your help makes this work possible.
On an otherwise ordinary day back in June, our policy team was — while working virtually — nonetheless abuzz. Links pinged from Ron to Alex to Caitlin as we took in the proposed 2022 DC budget.
After watching and re-watching budget presentations and poring through hundreds of pages of (ahem, slightly dry and occasionally obscure) text, we confirmed among ourselves and our network what each of us had begun to suspect:
Many of the needs the GGWash community has spent years, if not a decade, advocating for, were funded, some at unprecedented levels.
In a time when much had been lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was a signal that DC’s recovery would be at least somewhat informed by the values that GGWash has spent 13 years working to instill in policy.
Read on to learn more about the bright spots in our housing advocacy work in 2021 [[link removed]]
And then m ake a one-time or recurring contribution [[link removed]] today to help us raise $25,000 by December 31 .
Donate to GGWash [[link removed]]Working together is how we enter 2022 stronger than ever. Thank you for your support and for the work you do every day to make our region greater.
[[link removed]]In gratitude,
Chelsea Allinger
Executive Director
P.S. Did you know we have 450 recurring monthly donors? Just $5 or $10 per month makes a huge impact, giving us the resources we need to advocate on issues as they arise. Please consider joining our Neighborhood! [[link removed]]
