Nurse practitioners can ease the strain on the California doctor shortage

A study by California Health Care Foundation (CHCF) found that California only had between 35 and 49 primary care doctors per 100,000 individuals enrolled in Medi-Cal, which is less than half of the amount of doctors recommended by the federal government (85 to 105 per 100,000). Medi-Cal covers one in three Californians.

CA Lawmakers Proposed $236 Billion+ in New Taxes Despite Record Revenue

Consider that the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst’s office (LAO) recently reported that “California income tax withholding collections in November were 32.9 percent above November 2020 and collections to date in fiscal year 2021-22 are 22.7 percent above 2020-21.” Earlier in November, the LAO projected a $31 billion budget surplus in 2022-23.

Baby You Can Drive My Car, But In California It’s Really Expensive

Vehicle repairs are also the most expensive in the country. CarMD says California car owners paid $411 to have their check engine light-related problems fixed in 2020, $4 more than the next-most expensive state (Connecticut) and out of sight of the lowest cost, the $342 Ohioans paid.
