Giving Tuesday

Dear Friends,

You are invited to join NRCAT for a Human Rights Day webinar today at 1pm ET featuring members of our newly launched U.S. Prisons Program Advisory Council. Come learn how these Council members are leading efforts to uphold human rights in their respective advocacy spaces and how NRCAT will be working for the preservation of human rights in the upcoming year.

On this Human Rights Day, NRCAT celebrates the anniversary of the 1948 adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which declares that "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and human rights."

Today’s webinar conversation will be led by the Director of NRCAT’s U.S. Prisons Program, and himself a survivor of solitary confinement in U.S. prisons, Johnny Perez, and will include:

  • Ceyenne Doroshow, Founder and Executive Director, Gays and Lesbians Living in a Transgender Society (G.L.I.T.S.) (New York)
  • Steven Mangual, Justice Advocate Coordinator, LatinoJustice PRLDEF Southeast Region (Florida)
  • Kimberly Jenkins-Snodgrass, Vice Chairperson, Interfaith Action for Human Rights (Virginia)
  • Jack Morris, Lead Community Health Worker/Coordinator, St. John's Well Child & Family Center (California)

Also on this Human Rights Day, we invite you to help us spread the word about this opportunity using your social media to amplify this important conversation! We have prepared sample posts/tweets that you can share – view our social media guide.

Thank you for your partnership.

Sincerely,

Rev. Ron Stief
Executive Director

P.S.- In honor of this Human Rights Day, I invite you to donate to NRCAT to support our interfaith work in building a torture-free future.
