Over the past 7 years, A Voice for Choice Advocacy has established itself as the leading legislative organization lobbying in the California Capitol for your health rights. We have taken a position on vaccine legislation since 2015, including SB277, SB276 and SB714. We were able to defeat SB18, the Children’s Bill of Rights, and got significant amendments to AB992 to allow parents to opt out of vaccines during home visits, without discrimination. A Voice for Choice Advocacy also worked with Assembly Member Cristina Garcia to author and get AB1989, The Menstrual Products Right to Know Act, enacted into law in 2020. We currently have two lobbyists and Christina actively lobbying legislators in the Capitol, and are looking to hire a Legislative Director for 2022 (please apply if interested: [link removed] [[link removed]] ).

While A Voice for Choice Advocacy's lobbying activity in the Capitol is important, constituent grassroots lobbying is equally, if not more, important to affecting proposed legislation. Your positive constituent relationships with your CA State Senator and Assembly Member and their staff are critical to assisting with A Voice for Choice Advocacy's efforts in the Capitol. Knowing how to ceate a trusted, professional relationship with your legislator is not always easy, and it can be hard to know where to start. Christina, who during 2015, spent ever Monday thru Wednesday in Sacramento lobbying alongside our seasoned lobbyist, learning the tricks of the trade, and since then has had hundreds of legislative meetings, wants to share her knowledge with you, so you can be as effective as possible.

In this webinar, Christina gives step-by-step guidance and tips on how to professionally and effectively communicate and build a trusted relationship with your legislators. While this webinar is California focused, the information can be used in any state.
