John,
This week, I was in Washington, D.C. with several proud Court expansion advocates to protest at the White House. We needed to send our message to President Biden directly: We’ve wasted enough time on his Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court and it’s time to expand the Court NOW.
We had an amazing and inspirational day — and I wanted to share one of my favorite photos from the protest (that’s me on the far right!):
While our protest was a success, we have to keep our foot on the gas. Please, click here to make a donation of $5 to Take Back the Court today and help keep up the momentum for Court expansion.
At the White House, I had some incredible conversations with other passionate Court expansion advocates from around the country. People are fed up, scared, and hurting — but it’s also clear that there is something *big* happening. From big cities to small towns and in a diverse range of communities, folks are taking note and joining our fight to expand the Court.
This time last year, political pundits dismissed Court expansion as a pipe dream. But today, thanks to our collective activism, the surge in support of expansion has been nothing short of remarkable.
While this stolen Court has continued its rampage against abortion and voting rights, its public approval has hit an all-time low. It’s clear the American people will not stand for the Supreme Court engaging as an active participant in the Republican Party’s attempt to dismantle democracy so they can govern via minority rule.
But thanks to our relentless organizing, more than 40 members of the House have signed on to sponsor the Judiciary Act of 2021 and nearly 100 organizations have pledged their support for Court expansion.
While the momentum is on our side, we still have a hard battle ahead of us — but that’s exactly where you come in. Please make a donation of $5 to Take Back the Court today so we can continue this important work to save our democracy.
I know that change is coming.
Thanks for standing with us,
Obet
