Here at Vote Forward, research is integral to everything we do. In odd years like 2021, we focus on Vote Forward Labs experiments where we test new voter outreach tactics. Those insights inform our letter writing campaigns to encourage voter turnout in big national elections, like the upcoming 2022 midterms. We’re always researching ways to make our programs more effective so we can help Vote Forward volunteers like you have the greatest possible impact on elections.
As Vote Forward’s data and research director, I work on every aspect of the research and analysis that goes into our campaigns—from designing the letter writing experiments to analyzing the results. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is when I get to share just how impactful our campaigns are with you and other volunteers who work so hard to bring them to life.
Earlier this year, I shared a couple of exciting highlights about what we’ve learned from recent Vote Forward campaigns:
While we don’t have results ready to share yet, we were also excited to test letters written in both English and Spanish through a partnership with Voto Latino this year. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with partners in 2022 to expand the populations we’re able to reach and explore the most effective ways of encouraging them to vote.
Next year, we’re aiming to send even more letters to encourage voters to turn out in the 2022 midterm elections. And to make our programs as high-impact as possible, we need to keep experimenting and learning.
