Friend,

As one of my strongest grassroots supporters, I'm excited to share that my bill cracking down on robocalls has advanced in the Senate.

This is a major win for everyone who owns a phone. In 2019, over 1.7 billion robocalls were placed to my constituents in Michigan alone – that's roughly 107 robocalls per person! And robocalls aren't only a nuisance, they're dangerous: The average robocall victim loses nearly $200.

That's why my bill will raise the fine for deploying caller-ID schemes from $10,000 to $20,000 per violation and increase the maximum fine for organizing predatory “spoofing” campaigns from $1 million to $2 million.

I need to make sure my colleagues know this is an important issue for constituents like you. So, I've launched a live poll to gauge how much robocalls impact you and people you know. So, please, before midnight, can you tell me:

Have you or someone you know received a robocall this month?

Thanks for submitting your response and helping me get this bill across the finish line!

– Gary
