No one in this country should have to pay hundreds of dollars for insulin.
But unfortunately, that's the reality for too many Americans:

[ [link removed] ]headline that reads Insulin's deadly cost Ultrahigh prices in the U.S.
mean many diabetics can't afford the medication they need to survive

Our Build Back Better Act that we passed out of the House includes an
important provision to finally cap the out-of-pocket cost for a patient's
monthly insulin prescription at $35. This policy will change lives and
save them too — which is why Rep. Cori Bush and I are leading a group of
100 of our House colleagues in urging the Senate to pass this critical
bill as soon as possible.

We can hold Big Pharma accountable for their deadly price gouging on
insulin by sending the Build Back Better Act to President Biden's desk.
[ [link removed] ]Can you help fuel our work to keep the pressure on the Senate by
chipping in $3 today so we can finally invest in working
people?

Here's what we're specifically calling on the Senate to do:

1. Maintain our House provision in the Build Back Better Act that caps
the cost for a patient's monthly insulin prescription at $35 for all
Medicare beneficiaries and privately insured people — making insulin
affordable for the 32 million insured Americans with diabetes.

2. Amend the bill to speed up the implementation of this life-saving
provision by allowing these life-saving changes to take effect next year
instead of 2023.

3. Extend the $35 monthly insulin payment cap to uninsured people so no
person, regardless of coverage, ever dies due to insulin rationing
again.

Majorities of Democrats, Republicans, and independents support lower drug
prices, including an insulin price cap. The voters who delivered the White
House, the Senate, and the House to Democrats are counting on us to
deliver — let's get this done.

We can no longer let Big Pharma profit from a medication that millions of
Americans depend on to survive. [ [link removed] ]If you're still with me in this fight,
chip in $3 today to make sure the Senate answers our call
and passes the Build Back Better Act without delay.

In solidarity,

Pramila
