Our opponent Rep. Tim Ryan still won’t agree to a debate, and now he’s
telling the press that he wants to ignore our requests until after the
filing deadline – in February – because he’s not sure if we’re actually
running!
Let’s get something straight right now: I am running for the U.S. Senate.
Ohioans deserve a real choice in this election, and Tim Ryan needs to stop
running away and agree to debate me.

The GOP candidates in this election have been debating each other for
months, getting their message out to the voters. Democrats need to do the
same if we want any chance of winning this Senate seat.
But Tim Ryan is clearly underestimating what it’s going to take to win.
He’s been in Washington for 20 years — and this behavior is the epitome of
insider arrogance, aloofness, and condescension. He thinks he can stroll
right to the Democratic nomination without anyone hearing what he’ll do to
help people here in Ohio.
That’s not what Ohio needs in a Senator. I’m in this because I know that
only by uniting working people around a bold vision for our state can we
flip this seat blue.
