I’m reaching out to ask you
something important:

In a few short weeks, 2022 will be here — and midterms season will be upon
us. For me that means: in-person events, on-the-ground organizing across
California’s 17th, voter outreach via ads, majorly expanding our digital
program — every tool we have to defend this seat and protect our
progressive power in Congress.

I believe in us. I know our
progressive caucus in the House is only going to grow stronger. We’re
going to win more historic victories for working people, and bring America
closer to Medicare for All and a Green New Deal.

But the path there doesn’t exist yet. Every day, it’s paved by people like
you.

Specifically, I’m looking for your help as one of the few members of
Congress to reject ALL contributions from PACs and lobbyists — which means
millions of dollars left on the table. And the truth is, our grassroots
fundraising has taken a significant dip. We’re on track to start 2022
thousands of dollars short of what’s required for our campaign budget.

I’m personally asking if you can help us get an early start on our
end-of-year goal to raise $20,000 in online donations. It’s what we need
to raise to build my re-election campaign and continue carving out
progressive power in Congress.

[ [link removed] ]Will
you please make your
first contribution to my campaign now? Our average
contribution this month is around $30, but I’m grateful for any amount you
can chip in to bring us closer to our end-of-year goal.

If we fall short of this end-of-year fundraising goal, we won’t only be
hamstringing our ability to reach and turn out voters in my district.
We’re required to report our end-of-year fundraising numbers to the
Federal Election Commission — meaning our grassroots deficit becomes
public information.

Truth be told, that’s a worst-case scenario. I’d become a target, and our movement to
prove we don’t need corporate money in politics would be seriously hurt.

But we still have time to turn the tide. That’s why I’m asking if you’ll
pitch in today. If you’re proud of the work our movement is doing to
support working families through the pandemic, to hold Big Oil CEOs
accountable, and so much more, now is a critical time to show your
support.

[ [link removed] ]With my re-election campaign on the line, I am asking you to please
chip in $3, or any amount you can, directly to our
campaign. You can help make sure we don’t fall short of our $20,000
end-of-year goal.

Thank you for your time, your generosity, and your belief in our movement.

In solidarity,

Ro
