I’m excited to share something BIG that we’ve been working on and why your
help is so crucial right now. 

For the past year, our team and supporters in California have been working
to pass a historic bill that would establish a single-payer, Medicare for
All type health care system in the state.

AB 1400, the California Guaranteed Health Care for All Act – also known as
CalCare – would set a precedent for the rest of the country and help us
pass Medicare for All nationally. 

The bill was introduced this past February, but lawmakers chose to delay
action on the bill until January 2022. Which brings us to now: 

CalCare is up for reconsideration in the state legislature on January 3 –
and we have a real opportunity but a narrow window to pass the bill.
That’s why we need all eyes on California this month and your help
reaching out to key voters in the state.

Through our outreach to voters, we’ve identified over 59,000 new
supporters of CalCare in priority Assembly districts, and together, we’re
making calls to urge them to take action to pass the bill. 

We’re looking for more volunteers from Pennsylvania and beyond to
ensure we don’t leave any of those 59,000 supporters behind.

If you’re new to phone banking, this is the perfect opportunity to get
started. At the start of each Virtual Phone Bank Party, we’ll go over
everything you need to know, including how to use our calling tool, and of
course we’ll leave plenty of time for any questions you may have about
participating. All you need is a computer with internet access and a
phone. Plus, these are conversations with already identified supporters –
so it’s a really fun and rewarding experience.
