The War On Christmas
As we noted in yesterday's report, the massive Christmas tree outside the Fox News studios in Manhattan was set on fire by an arsonist. Fox is going to extraordinary lengths ([link removed]) to put up another tree this afternoon around five o'clock.
They're dedicating the new tree to the first responders who arrested the arsonist. (It was not Bill de Blasio!) They are even making a $100,000 donation to a charity that supports the families of fallen New York City police officers and firefighters. That's the good news.
The bad news is that the arsonist was promptly let out of jail ([link removed]) without putting up any bail because it was only a property crime. This insanity is why America's great cities are in such decline ([link removed]) .
It's not only criminals who are trying to ruin Christmas this year. Radical atheist groups are doing their best Scrooge impersonations. There is a wonderful organization called Wreaths Across America ([link removed]) . The group organizes thousands of volunteers who place hundreds of thousands of wreaths on the graves in veteran cemeteries around the country.
But now an atheist group called the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) is demanding that they be stopped because it claims that wreath laying promotes Christianity. If they get away with this, they will no doubt try to prohibit presidents from laying wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier or other memorials.
A spokesman for MRFF blasted the wreath laying ([link removed]) as "unconstitutional, an atrocity and a disgrace." He said a lot more than that, but I'll spare you. We're told to tolerate atheists, but they certainly don't tolerate us!
If Donald Trump were president, this group would be told to go to a place they probably don't believe exists. I don't know what Joe Biden will do. I certainly hope he won't be Grinchy enough to shut down this wonderful act of love by Wreaths Across America.
She's Baaack!
Hillary Clinton ([link removed]) is back in the news today. She's participating in the online program known as MasterClass, where celebrities, business leaders and experts in their fields essentially teach an online class. Hillary was selected to give a presentation on "resilience."
I think she needs to take a masterclass in self-awareness.
For whatever reason, Hillary decided to deliver for her students the victory speech she was going to deliver if she had won the 2016 presidential election. She had no concession speech, which was obvious because she refused to speak at all that evening even when it was clear she had lost.
Let me point out the obvious. The left continues attacking Donald Trump because he won't follow their orders and say that he lost the 2020 election "fair and square." (He didn't lose "fair and square.") But Hillary Clinton still won't concede the 2016 election!
For years Hillary claimed that the only reason Trump won was because he colluded with Russia. But we now know that the whole Russian collusion narrative was a Clinton campaign hoax. She paid foreign agents to compile a fake dossier, and then had her operatives convince the FBI that Trump was compromised by Russia.
There are no words to describe Clinton's chutzpah!
What will she do next? Will Hillary deliver the inaugural address she never got to give? After that, will she announce the cabinet appointments she never made? And will we then get a pseudo-State of the Union address that she would have delivered?
Then again, Hillary Clinton may be looking at the polls and seeing how unpopular the Biden/Harris team is, perhaps she's plotting her comeback in 2024. After all, the third time was a "charm" for Joe Biden – and a "curse" for America.
Pelosi's Puppet
Nancy Pelosi's kangaroo court, otherwise known as the January 6th Committee, is continuing its proceedings. This entire endeavor is an outrageous abuse of power.
Its main purpose is to destroy Donald Trump, hoping to prevent him from returning to the presidency, and to destroy conservatism by smearing the 75 million people who voted for him as "domestic terrorists" and a threat to the country.
Pelosi and her minions are attempting to throw Steve Bannon in jail. Mark Meadows, presumably with Trump's permission, was initially willing to cooperate with the committee and did provide some information. But they soon started demanding communications that occurred inside the White House and are clearly covered by executive privilege.
Now the committee is planning to hold Meadows in contempt of Congress, with the goal of throwing him in jail too. Meadows is fighting back ([link removed]) , suing Pelosi and the committee.
This is how the left plays. They're failing on virtually every major issue important to the American people – from the border to foreign policy, the economy to the pandemic. All they've got is "smear and criminalize." They are the real threat to our constitutional Republic.
The good news is that the American people see through Pelosi's power trip and view the January 6th Committee as a "partisan exercise ([link removed]) ." Unfortunately, polls won't keep Bannon and Meadows out of legal jeopardy.
Here's something to keep in mind: Among the chief actors on this "kangaroo court" are Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. Pelosi, not House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy, appointed them ([link removed]) to the committee.
Kinzinger is done. He's retiring at the end of this term, and I expect we will see him again as a commentator on MSNBC.
Cheney should be ashamed of herself for allying with the radical left that wanted her father "frog marched" out of the White House for alleged war crimes. But there are persistent rumors that Cheney plans on running as a third-party candidate to ensure that Trump or anyone like him does not get elected in 2024.
Donation records to members of Congress are public information. It's going to be interesting to see which establishment Republicans have continued to support Liz Cheney even as she serves as Nancy Pelosi's puppet.
Mandate Win
Last night, the Senate voted 52-to-48 ([link removed]) on a resolution rejecting Joe Biden's vaccine mandates on private businesses. Two Democrat senators – Joe Manchin and Jon Tester – joined all Senate Republicans in supporting the resolution.
I'm glad the vote was held. It was good to get all senators on the record for or against these onerous rules that are next to impossible to follow.
While the resolution is likely to fail in the House and would certainly be vetoed by President Biden, the Senate vote is a win nonetheless. Now it's up to the conservative candidates running against the 48 Democrats to expose their penchant for big government mandates.
Fauci vs. The Constitution
As I was pondering that vote last night, my thoughts returned to Dr. Fauci. I'm sure it won't be long before he condemns the vote and accuses the 52 senators of questioning him, questioning science and endangering the country.
Of course, the difference between the senators and Dr. Fauci is that the senators were elected by the people. No one elected Dr. Fauci to anything.
Moreover, as we have recently noted, multiple federal courts have struck down all of Biden's vaccine mandates – for federal contractors, for healthcare workers and for private businesses.
For two years now, we have been told that our elected leaders are irrelevant when it comes to the pandemic. For the time being, Dr. Fauci runs America. If Fauci expresses one view, you're supposed to close your ears to any other views. He is our pied piper, and we're supposed to follow him wherever he leads.
That's ludicrous! Fauci is a public health bureaucrat who knows nothing about managing an economy, running a military or governing a nation.
To those who so quickly condemn anyone who dares to question Dr. Fauci, I ask this: Does Fauci also get to overrule the federal courts? Are the liberals who worship at the altar of the Sainted Dr. Fauci going to condemn the federal judges who struck down Biden's mandates?
Federal judges don't spend their days staring through microscopes. Instead, they spend their days reading the Constitution, and they have found that Biden is violating the Constitution.
Does Fauci trump the Founding Fathers too? Of course not.
It's time to end the Fauci dictatorship!
