Our families and communities have been in crisis — from generations of underinvestment, policy violence, and an ongoing pandemic.
Ayanna understands that it is the duty of policymakers to respond with urgency and deliver policies that will have a real impact on people’s lives.
That’s why she fought hard to keep critically-needed investments in the Build Back Better Act passed by the House, including:
Resources to help states and cities expand free transit;
The largest investment ever in addressing the Black maternal mortality crisis and expanding postpartum coverage;
And billions of dollars to expand rental assistance and support first generation homebuyers.
All of these investments are included in the House version of the Build Back Better Act. Now, it’s on the Senate to pass the bill with all of these urgent investments included.
The passage of this bill in the House has moved us one step closer to Democrats’ promise of delivering meaningful, tangible change to communities across the country.
But it’s up to us to help Ayanna finish the work she and House progressives started, by keeping up the pressure on the Senate to move with urgency to pass this bill and send it to the President’s desk.
Our communities have waited far too long, and the people deserve nothing less.Thank you for stepping up today,
The A-Team
