Trigger Warning: White supremacist violence, Islamophobia, violence, disturbing/threatening language
John, we wish that this wasn't a real headline:
Last week, Rep. Omar shared a disturbing threat she received on her voicemail.
Unfortunately, it is no coincidence that these kinds of threats are occurring, as Republican Lauren Boebert has been repeatedly spewing Islamophobic comments directed at Rep. Omar in recent weeks.
The racist rhetoric being used against Rep. Omar has real consequences, which we're seeing play out in real time. And when there is nobody being held accountable for encouraging violence against Muslims, what can we really expect?

Up to today, Lauren Boebert has refused to publicly apologize or acknowledge the damage and violence she has encouraged against Rep. Omar.
Anti-Muslim hate and harassment have been mainstreamed into the platform of countless politicians and are rooted in white supremacy.
Lauren Boebert is one of these politicians.
During an event in her Colorado district, Boebert spewed Islamophobic rhetoric about Rep. Omar, where she states:
“I was getting into an elevator with one of my staffers..you know, we're leaving the Capitol, and we're going back to my office, and we get an elevator, and I see a Capitol Police officer running to the elevator. I see fret all over his face, and he's reaching, and the door's shutting, like I can't open it, like what's happening. I look to my left, and there she is. Ilhan Omar. And I said, ‘Well, she doesn't have a backpack. We should be fine.'”
Nothing about this is okay, John. Republican House Leader Kevin McCarthy must take action to hold Boebert accountable immediately. Let's flood his Twitter and demand he does exactly that >>
We will continue to demand accountability from elected officials -- especially when it's abundantly clear that many are working to uphold white supremacy.
