Dear DRA Community,
Reflecting on my first year as President & CEO at DRA, I couldn’t be prouder of our clients and staff who together have made education, housing, employment, prisons and detention centers, transportation, emergency preparedness, voting, and technology more accessible for millions of people with disabilities across the nation.
We did this through high impact litigation. We did this through deep partnership. And we did this thanks to your generous support.
In our attached 2021 annual report, you’ll read about DRA’s phenomenal impact at a time when the civil and human rights of people with disabilities remain under attack. You’ll learn about our progress towards building a sustainable financial foundation in the face of a global pandemic and a deeply socially, politically, and economically divided society.
Why does DRA need your support? We need you so we can continue to take on big, risky, systemic, life-saving cases like our lawsuit against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) challenging failures throughout the immigration detention system that endanger lives and discriminate against detained immigrants with all types of disabilities. We need you so that we can hire aspiring civil rights attorneys as fellows and build the next bench of disability justice warriors. And we need you so that we can fulfill our newly minted strategic plan—increasing DRA’s diversity, impact, and internal strength; benefitting people across the disability spectrum.
Thank you for being a part of DRA’s community and for making a tax-deductible contribution before year’s end.
