Did Kamala knock it out of the park last night at the Liberty and Justice
Celebration, or what?!

I couldn’t be more proud of this team and my wife, Kamala -- our next
president:

Last night in front of tens of thousands of Iowa voters, Kamala shared her
record as a fighter for the people, and she laid out her agenda to write
the next chapter of our American story.

But, most importantly, she made the case as to why she’s the fighter who’s
going to take on Donald Trump in 2020 and win. And good lord do I want to
see her on that debate stage. She’ll mop the floor with him.

Here’s where you come in, and I need to explain really quickly why this
moment is so huge for our campaign.

Just this week, we had to make some really tough decisions about the
campaign -- including letting go of some of our wonderful, talented staff
-- in order to make sure we’ve got the resources we need to win in Iowa.
It was a gut-wrenching decision and not one that we take lightly.

As you know, we’re under 100 days away from the Iowa caucuses -- the first
contest of this crowded primary. The folks who come out on top in Iowa are
the most likely to press onward and win the nomination -- and that’s why
we’re going all-in on the Hawkeye State.

But to be honest there
are still 17 Democrats running for president. And with Kamala on the road
meeting with voters across the country, she hasn’t had much time to focus
on fundraising. And it has come at a cost to our ability to be successful.

It’s true that a huge portion of the campaign’s fundraising comes from
grassroots donors clicking “donate” buttons in emails just like the one
I’m writing to you right now.

Your donations are literally powering our campaign. You make it possible
for us to invest strategically in Iowa -- including targeted digital ads
to persuadable voters and literally buying the flyers that our organizers
carry with them when they’re knocking on doors, meeting voters where
they’re at.

This moment right now is critical. Kamala killed it last night and she
made all of us so, so proud. Now, it’s up to us to make sure we don’t lose
this momentum.

I know I say this all the time, but it’s been such an incredible
experience to watch the country get to know the woman I love. She’s the
brightest, toughest, most thoughtful and hardworking person I’ve ever met
in my life -- and I cannot wait until she’s our next president.

Thanks for being with us in this. See you on the trail.

P.S. In case you were wondering, this is what my face looked like for the
entirety of the day yesterday … I think the word you’d use to describe it
is “beaming”:
