Hi Friend,
This weekend, Texas Democrats are bringing the fight to South Texas. Our Party leaders, statewide candidates, and Democratic activists are holding critical meetings in Laredo to gear up for 2022. I’m a South Texan born and raised, and I’m excited to see Texas Democrats from all across the state coming together in the place I call home -- and building up Democratic power in my home community as we head into election season.
Unlike Greg Abbott and Texas Republicans, we know that South Texas is at the heart of the fight for a better future in our state. While we’re working hard to ensure South Texans have every opportunity to make their voices heard, Abbott is busy using South Texas as both his favorite talking point and biggest punching bag.
When the rubber meets the road, Greg Abbott cares more about using South Texas as a punchline than protecting the people who actually live here. When South Texas was hit hardest by the pandemic, where was Greg Abbott? When February’s winter storm devastated millions in South Texas, where was Greg Abbott? Clearly, we can’t count on him to protect our lives or livelihoods when it’s not part of his political agenda.
But while Abbott keeps abandoning our communities, Texas Democrats are here -- and we’re not going anywhere. We’re here to remind South Texans how much power there is in their voice, in their vote, and in their community. This weekend, we’re laying the groundwork to bring Democratic power back to Texas in 2022 -- and I’m asking you to add your voice in support. Friend, can we rely on you to chip in $7 or whatever you can to power our critical organizing efforts in South Texas?
