This week, my husband and his campaign launched a new ad sharing John’s extraordinary family story and his vision for the future of Maryland – and he needs your support to make the biggest impact possible. Will you chip in to his ad fund today to make sure John’s story on the power of progress reaches as many Maryland voters as possible?

I’ve seen firsthand how John’s story and ancestral history of enslavement less than 25 miles from where our family lives now can serve as a starting point for complex but necessary conversations about the challenges we face today. Acknowledging past injustices is essential to our progress as a state, but there are those on the far-right who would rather rewrite the history of slavery and segregation in this country — and this ad demonstrates just how hard John is working to stand up to their malicious attacks.

I’ve also seen how John inspires Marylanders across the state when he shares how just three generations later, John went on to serve in the cabinet of our nation’s first Black president.

This moving story of progress fuels so much of what my husband does – from advocating for equity to making sure opportunity exists for more than just those at the top — and I know it will fuel his plans to prioritize equity in everything he does as governor. That’s why it’s so essential that we support John now and make sure this ad has as much of an impact as possible: voters across this state need to hear John’s truth and know why it matters now.
