If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I am not a quitter. I’ve faced some pretty tough challenges in my life and managed to overcome every single one:

I am a father who witnessed my daughter fight for survival from a virus that attacked her heart.

And I am a survivor of police brutality who was beaten, handcuffed, and falsely arrested by plainclothes police officers.

These life-changing events only inspired my career to fight for the little guy and fight for justice. I have dedicated 27 years of my career to serving my community: as a law enforcement officer, as a prosecutor, and now as a civil rights attorney.
