John —
We'll be frank, one of the best gifts anyone could give to the United States this holiday season is to remove Louis DeJoy from his seat as Postmaster General.
DeJoy's made mail delivery intentionally slower while raising postage prices and making provisions to privatize the United States Postal Service. This holiday season, these attacks on one of America's greatest public goods could be catastrophic for a lot of reasons:
- The USPS package volume has increased by more than two billion packages in the last seven years — making this year busier than ever.
- On top of that, next week is THE busiest for mailing, shipping, and delivery out of the year!
On the busiest days of the year, there will be pressure on USPS workers to deliver more mail faster. At the same time, the DeJoy administration has given BIG bonuses to its executives (upwards of $370,000 in extra income for DeJoy and four of his deputies) while thousands of employees complain about wage theft in local offices.
Now more than ever, we need to support USPS workers by ensuring they are working under a fair and just administration.
Dwight has been one of the most vocal leaders in Congress in calling for the removal of DeJoy and the revitalization of the USPS.
Will you show solidarity for USPS workers today and help Dwight defend the United States Postal Service?
Thank you,
Team Evans
