Dear Friend,
Did you know?
In the heart of Hempstead, New York—one of the lowest income communities on Long Island—we manage a 2,400 square foot community food garden that provides fresh produce for 200 food insecure families each year, while teaching local K-12 youth how to garden and compost.
We are fundraising through December 15th! Click here to donate to our community garden.
Programs at our community food garden include interactive workshops on starting and maintaining an organic garden, cultivating a variety of plants, and promoting healthy nutrition. We also take this as an opportunity to highlight the problem of food insecurity in the community, and connect young people to local campaigns that address the root causes of hunger.
Our fundraising campaign ends on December 15th at 12pm EST. Don't wait to give!
With the pandemic leaving so many behind, food gardens managed by the community that distribute fresh produce and fruit to struggling families will be critical more than ever.
Contribute what you can to our Hempstead garden! All donations are tax-deductible and go to the project even if the goal is not reached.
With your help, we can grow our community garden and feed many more families.
In solidarity,
Lucas Sanchez
Deputy Director
