Hi John,

This year, Greenpeace marked turning 50.

Together over half a century, we’ve confronted whalers, stood in the way of nuclear weapons tests, and taken on the world's worst polluting companies -- and won.

But today I'm emailing to ask if you can keep our work going. Because as I send this, we're behind on monthly contributions for the year ahead.

John -- I’m hoping to find 1,695 people to give a few pounds monthly to close the gap we’re facing. I know a lot of organisations ask people to chip in at this time of year. But as Greenpeace doesn't accept government funds or corporate donations, our campaigns rely on people like you generously giving what they can.

Can you join the incredible group of people who contribute monthly to protect the oceans, safeguard forests and save the climate?

As Greenpeace's fundraising director, I have the privilege of seeing how your contributions add up to fund our global movement for change.

Throughout 2021, Greenpeace supporters helped cover the cost of our ships as they worked to safeguard our seas, paid for expert investigations into environmental crimes, and funded peaceful protests against some of the worst polluting companies.

Now with 2022 approaching fast, Greenpeace’s team of activists are drawing up plans for the year ahead. My hope is that we won’t have to hold back any tactics to fight fossil fuels, save our forests, and win protection for our oceans.

John -- giving a green light for truly ambitious plans is only possible if we can reach the goal of 1,695 people coming onboard. Can you join with a monthly contribution to make sure we hit the ground running in 2022?

Marking 50 years of Greenpeace has been a huge reminder of just how powerful we can be when we work together.

Together in the last 50 years, we’ve kept oil companies like Shell out of the Arctic, helped put a stop to commercial whaling, won a global ban on nuclear testing and so much more.

With the climate crisis intensifying, building an unstoppable movement to protect our planet is going to take every one of us playing a part. So if you’re able to right now, please join with a monthly contribution here -- it only takes a few minutes to sign up >>

However you choose to support Greenpeace, thanks for everything you’re doing to help protect our planet.

PS. Are you already a monthly donor? Then please just reply to let us know. Sometimes we have more than one email address on record, so we'll update your file to make sure it's correct. Thanks so much for your support!
