Like many of you, when I get ready for the day, I’m blessed that my ears, eyes and teeth are pretty healthy and aside from support from my spectacular glasses, everything works pretty darn good.

Last time I checked, a person’s ears, teeth and eyes were all part of the human body. So why is healthcare coverage for dental and vision not covered under Medicare?

Can you believe that?

I mean, with the assistance of my spectacular glasses, my eyes are pretty good, I can still hear okay, listening intently when my grand-babies are sleeping for any rustling or noises on the monitor, and thank heavens I still have all of my teeth! (well most of them, except the ones in the very back.)

I’m okay, but everyday I wake up and ask, “But what about everyone else?”

That is why we cannot allow anyone, not Republicans, not Joe Manchin or anyone to make major cuts to the Build Back Better Plan that benefit the poor, working poor, and barely middle class.

Progressives are fighting to ensure the latest bill expands Medicare so that it includes vision, dental and hearing. We must support Senator Sanders and other progressive leaders to keep this important component of the bill in tact.

In what world does it make sense to separate these key areas of healthcare?

I am using my platform to elevate the importance of passing the BBB and organizing a movement to help build momentum. Our hope is that together, we can hold the line and demand more for the people - not less.
