Dear John, With all its colours, glitter, and pageantry, the holidays should be warm and welcoming. But for many 2SLGBTQI people, it’s the toughest time of year. Our recent report, Still in Every Class in Every School (2021), found that 62% of 2SLGBTQI students in Canada felt unsafe to be themselves at school, compared to 11% of non-2SLGBTQI. With the support of our generous donors, Egale has worked to promote 2SLGBTQI inclusion through Research, Education, Awareness and Legal Advocacy: - Our continued 'Draw the Line Against Transphobia in Schools' webinars educated students, teachers and staff on building skills to foster cultures of consent, gender inclusion, and healthier relationships.
