Challenging the Obsession with Global Military Domination

Dear friend of QI--

Vietnam. Afghanistan. Iraq.

You and I share a common understanding that there has to be a better way for the United States to engage with the world than through endless war.

As allies of the Quincy Institute, we know the organization has to challenge the obsession of global military domination held by so many of America’s foreign policy elites, and replace it with more effective diplomacy.

Responsible Statecraft, the Quincy Institute’s online publication, is essential to that effort. Only two years old, it serves as a hub for thoughtful and fresh analysis of America’s role in the world.

When QI was founded, voices for greater military restraint were still marginalized in the debates in Washington. QI knew that it would fight an uphill battle against older and richer entrenched interests. But Responsible Statecraft had more than 1.5 million pageviews this past year. That’s impressive. The newest kid on the block has brought the message of reason and restraint out of the margins and into the mainstream!

Responsible Statecraft played an integral role in QI’s campaign to help get U.S. troops out of Afghanistan. It filled a void in the debate that had been left by a mainstream media that showed itself to be a handmaiden for war.

Let’s take the cause of realism and restraint to the next level. Make a 100% tax-deductible contribution to QI of $1,000, $500, $100 or whatever you manage. Help end the endless wars!
