The Anchorage Coalition to End Homlessness (ACEH) works with allies in the community to design, create, and lead implementation for the Anchorage community plan on homelessness.

** Point-in-Time (PIT) Count
------------------------------------------------------------
PIT Update
The 2022 Point in Time Count will happen at the end of January. Because of COVID-19, volunteers will not assist in the count. Thank you to the people and organizations who reached out asking to help. Once the dates and plan are finalized we may request supplies or other items to give out during the count.
Case Conferencing and Coordinated Entry (CE) Training
Case conferencing meets bi-weekly via Zoom. On Tuesday, December 21st, ACEH will host a Single Adults Case Conferencing meeting where providers can discuss resources and potential avenues of assistance for clients with unique barriers, as well as discuss best outreach practices for any clients that have received a recent referral.

HOME-ARP Webinar Series: Non-Congregate Shelter Project Case Studies - December 15, 2021 - 1:30 PM EST
The American Rescue Plan (ARP) provides $5 billion through the HOME-ARP program to HOME Participating Jurisdictions (PJs). In collaboration with other community stakeholders, HOME PJs can use the funding to make targeted, strategic investments in housing and other assistance for people experiencing or at imminent risk of homelessness, and other vulnerable populations.
This webinar will review Non-Congregate Shelter (NCS) planning considerations through case studies to assist PJs who are interested in using HOME-ARP to create NCS for their community.

Listening and Learning to Better Serve Rural Communities
The Housing Assistance Council’s Fall edition of Rural Voices looks at some of the pandemic’s impacts on affordable rural housing efforts in the U.S. A feature cover story, Listening and Learning to Better Serve Rural Communities, was authored by Steven K. Washington. Steven Washington is the Director of the Office of Policy Development and Coordination (OPDC) at HUD and current Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Operations in the Office of Community Planning and Development (CPD). Iyauta Green, Supervisory CPD Specialist and Manager of the OPDC Grants Management Team, also contributed to this article.

** National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC)

Congress Enacts Continuing Resolution to Fund Government through February 18
Congress enacted a continuing resolution (CR) on December 2 to extend current levels of funding for federal agencies and programs through February 18, 2022. The stop-gap funding bill (HR 6119 ([link removed]) ), which passed the House along a near party-line vote of 221-212 and the Senate by a vote of 69-28, will also provide $7 billion in disaster relief and aid to refugees from Afghanistan but does not include any anomalies for HUD programs.
