Climate chaos threatens every part of our lives — our food, water, health and planet. It’s not something we can wish away or worry about later — it’s here and now.
We’re witnessing the deadly consequences of relying on fossil fuels: a changing climate with more extreme wildfires, floods, droughts, heatwaves and hurricanes. And things will only get worse if we waste more time chasing false solutions and feeble half measures. We need real solutions TODAY to protect our food, water and climate.
A study in the journal Science shows that children born today could experience twice as many wildfires, three times as many droughts and floods, and seven times as many heat waves as their grandparents. We don’t want this future for our children. That’s why Food & Water Action is fighting to create a better future for everyone.
Food & Water Action isn’t waiting for Washington politicians to wake up to climate reality. We’re working to overhaul our food system, guarantee clean, affordable public water, and ban fracking and fossil fuel infrastructure.
And we have big, bold plans for 2022. We are:
Fighting to change the structure of our food system by pushing to ban factory farms, ban harmful pesticides that endanger our food and its pollinators, and stop Big Ag mega-mergers that harm consumers, farmers and communities.
Working to transition farmers away from factory farms to more sustainable forms of agriculture, and to protect ag workers in the field and in meat processing plants.
Fighting to protect our water as a public trust resource by having dedicated federal funding for water infrastructure and keeping water corporations from privatizing municipal water systems.
Fighting to ban fracking, oil and gas infrastructure, petrochemical and fracked gas export facilities, and drilling on public lands.
