At first I thought this was a headline from The Onion, but somehow, it’s real:

“GOP senators threaten shutdown over vaccine rule” — CBS News

It’s true: last week, Republicans actually threatened to shut down the government in protest of federal vaccine requirements.

With the discovery of the new omicron COVID-19 variant spreading across the globe and positive cases growing as we move into winter, the Biden Administration is right to require vaccines: they work, and they save lives.

Instead of listening to science and doing whatever it takes to protect the lives of their constituents, some Republicans would rather hold the government hostage for their own political agenda. They’re playing games with people’s lives, and it’s sickening.

This is exactly why we need to defend and expand our Democratic majorities in the House and Senate next year, and why flipping this seat here in PA-01 is absolutely critical.
