Hello —
Americans have counted on the United States Postal Service for decades to get everything they need. From prescription drugs to social security benefits and even mail-in ballots, the USPS has always served an integral role in American society, no matter where you live.
But ever since Donald Trump appointed one of his top campaign donors, Louis DeJoy, to the position of Postmaster General of the USPS last year, damaging operational and structural changes have been made to our postal service.
Overtime was denied for thousands of USPS employees, mail-sorting machines were decommissioned, delivery times slowed, mail drop boxes were taken out of our communities — you name it.
Months ago, I called for the replacement of Ron Bloom, the former chair of the Postal Service’s governing board. Despite the crippling changes implemented by Louis DeJoy, Mr. Bloom had not taken sufficient action to hold him accountable.
I welcome President Biden’s action to replace Mr. Bloom, and I look forward to seeing improvements in our beloved Postal Service under new leadership. Louis DeJoy is unfit to serve as Postmaster General, and he must be removed from his position before he causes irreversible damage to the USPS.
If you’re with me, sign my petition demanding the Senate confirm President Biden’s nominees, Daniel Tangherlini and Derek Kan, to the U.S. Postal Service’s Board of Governors so we can remove Postmaster General and Trump ally Louis DeJoy.
Thanks for adding your name. The future of our Postal Service is on the line, and I won’t sit this fight out.
