Friend,

A new report just gave Costco an "F" for its excessive single-use plastic packaging.[1]

It's past time for companies such as Costco to move beyond plastic by getting rid of the plastics we truly don't need. Plastic packaging is a great example of this: It's used for just a moment, and there are already better alternatives.

Costco can play an important role in reducing plastic waste. By taking unnecessary plastic packaging off its shelves, it will reduce the amount of plastic that ends up in our environment and threatens our health. Costco will also set an important example for others in the industry to follow.

Tell Costco: It's time to move beyond plastic packaging.

Dear Friend,

Costco received an "F" for its failure to reduce single-use plastic packaging in stores, according to a new report from As You Sow.[1]

Nothing we use for a few minutes should threaten our health and pollute our future for hundreds of years. But Costco's plastic bags, lids and bottles are unnecessarily contributing to the amount of plastic pollution piling up in landfills and littering our streets and waterways.

We're calling on Costco to commit to reducing its single-use plastic packaging, and we need your help, Friend. Will you help us show Costco that there's widespread support for moving beyond plastic?

Add your name to our petition calling on Costco to eliminate needless plastic packaging.

Plastic pollution isn't just unsightly. It's also unhealthy. Plastic pollution seeps into the water we drink and the seafood we eat. Certain chemicals found in plastic can disrupt endocrine systems, interfere with brain development, and cause cancer and birth defects.[2]

It's time for us to move beyond plastic by stopping the use of plastics we truly don't need. Plastic packaging is a great example of this. It's used for only a moment, and viable alternatives exist.

Costco can play an important role in the reduction of plastic waste. By taking unnecessary plastic packaging off its shelves, it will reduce the amount of plastic in our environment. Costco will also set an important example for others in the industry to follow.

Join us in urging Costco to move beyond plastic today.
