Hi John, I try to avoid the political rumor mill, but I just couldn’t wrap my head around the latest idea far-right Republicans are floating.

There are whispers that the Republicans’ dream scenario is installing Donald Trump as House Speaker if they win back control of the House in 2022.

Even if the idea of House Speaker Donald Trump is a bit far-fetched at this point in time, the possibility of a Republican takeover is still a terrifying reality to think about.

Because let’s be clear — even a Kevin McCarthy-led GOP majority would be devastating to the working families we have been fighting so hard for.

Republicans have made it known that they won’t waste a second rolling back the progress Democrats have made under the Biden presidency — from the expanded Child Tax Credit to investments in green infrastructure. And they won’t stop there, as they’ll seek to impose the same restrictive voter suppression and abortion laws we’ve seen passed in GOP-led state legislatures.
