National Nurses United

we have a great update for you.

Ady Barkan just released his 7th and final video in the Uncovered series — and our very own Executive Director, Bonnie Castillo, is the featured guest.

Please take a minute to read Ady’s kind note about Bonnie, all of the work we’ve put in to win Medicare for All, and their interview below. And of course watch it for yourself (then share with as many friends as possible on social media).

- Nurses' Campaign to Win Medicare for All

Forwarded Message from Ady Barkan:

This is it –– today we’re releasing the final video from our Uncovered series. It’s not with a presidential candidate, but someone who is helping to lead the movement for health care reform.

While our next President has a big role to play, it’s up to all of us to write the next chapter of health care in America.

So for our final video of the series, I spoke with Bonnie Castillo, RN and Executive Director of National Nurses United (NNU) – the largest union of nurses in the country and the premier organization fighting for health care justice. The nurses know what their patients need – and they know what we’re up against.

I was proud and grateful to have Bonnie and NNU as a partner on this project, and I’m excited for you to hear her perspective as a health care provider, organizer, union leader and thought leader.

Watch and share my interview with Bonnie as we look back on Uncovered, our favorite moments from the series, and what’s next in the fight for health care justice.

Bonnie and I both have come to the conclusion that the best solution to our country’s health care emergency is Medicare for All. That’s how we met each other and started brainstorming how we can bring awareness to this crisis.

We know that stories are the most important and powerful way to inspire change – we’ve seen that from the emotional conversations we’ve had with candidates like Senator Harris.

Through stories we can find common ground even with those we don’t agree with – which we saw during my interview with Mayor Buttigieg. Unfortunately, there’s still one candidate who failed to even respond to my invitation: Joe Biden – but we won’t let Joe rain on our parade.

While the Uncovered series may be over, our efforts to put health care at the forefront of the election are not. It will take a mass movement of people rising up everywhere – from the streets to the ballot box – to achieve the health care justice we need.

In the meantime, please watch my last interview of the Uncovered series and share with your family and friends!
