With big yawns, little Bello is only beginning to take in life around him. In the picture above, he was just 7 days old.

IRC midwives helped support his mom, Hussaini, to have a safe birth at a clinic in remote northeast Nigeria.

Her dreams for Bello’s future? "I hope he becomes a good person who helps his community."

John, it’s because of generous supporters like you that our hard-working midwives are able to provide mothers living in the world’s toughest places with health care and the support needed to safely welcome their babies into the world. Thank you.
