 John — We need to take a moment to talk about Republicans’ sham “audit” of Pennsylvania’s elections. Just before Thanksgiving, the Pennsylvania GOP hired an out-of-state consulting firm – run by a national Republican donor – to “investigate” our 2020 election results. This firm has no experience at all evaluating elections, but Newsweek reports “The hire was likely made due to pressure from former President Donald Trump and his supporters hoping to find their first piece of evidence that last year's presidential election was stolen.” Well we have news for Donald Trump and the GOP: they’re not going to find a single shred of evidence supporting The Big Lie in Pennsylvania. Millions of Pennsylvanians voted safely and securely in 2020 – and TWO legal, bipartisan audits already confirmed that last year. But these extremist Republicans are relentless. They know they can’t win on the issues, and they’ve resorted to dismantling our democracy to turn Pennsylvania red next year. So we can’t back down.
This isn’t the first time Republicans have blatantly lied to get the election results they wanted. In 2020, Rudy Giuliani sued the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and made a mockery of our judicial system to overturn the simple fact that Joe Biden won Pennsylvania, fair and square. As the People’s Attorney General, Josh took on Rudy Giuliani in court – and won. But the GOP just won’t accept reality. Their ridiculous audit – run by a Republican donor and paid for by taxpayer’s hard earned dollars – is just their latest attempt to rig the system and guarantee a win in 2022.
