Celebrating our 100th parkun!

cake

In October the Clifton Parkrun celebrated its 100th event with a fancy dress run and raised over £90 on the day to help raise funds to purchase defibrillators.

Clifton Parkrun meets every week at the pylon on Clifton Playing Fields at 9am.

Everyone is welcome, even if you’ve never run before or if you’d rather walk!  More information about the parkrun can be found at https://www.parkrun.org.uk/clifton or on Facebook.

With the impending changes to the Silverdale Roundabout, National Highways (formerly Highways England) will be holding a public consultation event in December, where they will outline the plans, and the rationale behind them. Details are as below:

Bulb planting in Silverdale

daffodils

Clifton West Councillors and residents have planted 10,000 daffodil bulbs across the Silverdale Estate

The bulbs were purchased jointly between the Clifton West Councillors and donations from local residents.  This project has been worked on for several years by residents and we are looking forward to seeing the results in the spring!

Footpath work in Wilford

Clifton West Councillors have agreed Area Capital Funding to carry out further repairs to and resurfacing of footpaths in Main Road Wilford, near South Wilford School. The work started over the October half-term.

It's no obligation - but if you join, we'll send you a free litter pick, high-vis vest, purple bin bags and more. Children can join too so the whole family can go out together, as often as you like.

Looking after yourself this Christmas

christmas

Nottingham City Council’s Trading Standards team are asking Nottingham residents to be careful when buying presents for children:

  • Look for the CE or UKCA mark: These symbols on the label or box mean the manufacturer has assessed the toy for safety
  • Button-batteries can kill:  Check they are screwed in firmly and safely before giving to a child
  • Check age restrictions: Toys must be clearly marked with age restrictions - always follow them, they’re there for a reason

⚠️ Scam warning ⚠️

Warning – criminals are using the NHS Covid Pass and pretending to be the NHS as a way to target the public by convincing them to hand over money, financial details and personal information.

For information on how to get your free NHS COVID Pass, visit www.nhs.uk/nhscovidpass.

On scams generally - remember, if a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is. These include festive getaways at very low prices and ‘easy’ ways to make money, like cryptocurrency and investments. Take a moment to check Citizens Advice’s Online Scams Helper to protect yourself.
