As a mom of three school age kids, I’ve had enough of politicians who are
too afraid to stand up to the gun lobby and take common sense action to
protect our families.

There have been at least 29 school shootings in 2021 alone, and gun
violence as a whole has only increased since the start of the pandemic.
The problem is clear, and it won’t be fixed with thoughts and prayers.

While Washington has failed to pass meaningful gun violence prevention
legislation, more than half of Americans support stronger gun safety laws.
One roadblock to change: special interest groups like the NRA.

The NRA and the gun lobby play an outsized role in our political system,
directly donating three quarters of a million dollars to candidates in the
2020 cycle alone.

I’ll always stand for gun violence prevention: banning assault weapons,
requiring background checks on firearm purchases, and supporting a
healthcare system that provides comprehensive mental health treatment to
those who need it.

Now, we need to counter the influence of special interest groups like the
